Are you an experienced VR General Practitioner looking for your next locum position? Come and work in the heart of the Outback in Wilcannia, NSW at a busy Aboriginal Medical Service outreach clinic.

Recent GP locums have commented on a "well-managed practice", "friendly working environment" and "not feeling time constrained when consulting patients with complex clinical and social needs".

The Practice

Our client is seeking an experienced locum VR General Practitioner to work as the solo doctor at their busy AMS clinic leading an experienced nursing team:
  • 3 highly experienced AMS nurses supporting GP & Nurse Manager
  • Aboriginal Health Practitioners
  • Friendly receptionists
  • Monday-Friday 8.30am-5pm, no weekends or after hours required
  • Highly experienced AMS nursing team
  • Main clinic in Broken Hill with two additional outreach sites (Menindee and Ivanhoe)
  • Multiple allied health services onsite
Requirements
  • Unrestricted AHPRA registration (VR)
  • Must have experience working in an Aboriginal Medical Service or regional/remote setting
The Location
  • DPA/MMM7
  • Accommodation, car and travel provided
  • $1800 per day
  • Weekend accommodation in Broken Hill (Friday to Sunday) can be arranged so the GP can explore and enjoy the region
  • Currently needed to cover from March to May 2026
  • Daily direct flights to Broken Hill from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide airports
  • Explore the Outback - the heritage buildings of Wilcannia, hikes and trails in Mutawintji National Park and Paroo-Darling Park, and unique attractions like White Cliff's Underground Motel a short road trip away
