PracticeBound: From Canberra Hospital to Eden

Originally from Pakistan, Dr Beenish Zehra’s journey to GP practice has taken her around the world, finishing in the aptly named seaside town of Eden on the South Coast of NSW.
I am delighted to introduce Karen Bowden as DXC Medical’s fifth Principal GP Recruitment Consultant. Based in Melbourne, Karen will be responsible for delivering permanent and locum GP recruitment solutions for our clients and candidates in Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia.
Karen brings more than 20 years experience in the healthcare industry. In this time she has worked for both independent country practices and larger multi-site medical centre operators. Her roles have included; GP recruitment, Regional Operations Management, Practice Management, Practice Accreditation and Nursing.
This combination of experience, personal network and Melbourne base will ensure that DXC Medical is able to deliver our ‘personal, proactive and high-quality’ commitment to our clients and candidates throughout regional, rural and metropolitan locations.
Karen has a comprehensive understanding of 19AA and 19AB (DPA) requirements, including all 3GA training pathways. RVTS, RACGP PEP, ACRRM Independent & Specialist Pathway and the new Rural Generalist Training Scheme.
Most importantly, Karen shares our passion for primary care and rural healthcare and is a keen advocate of holistic health, yoga and meditation.

Dr Rabeea Saeed and her family have recently relocated from the bustling major city of Abu Dhabi to the scenic coastal town of Coffs Harbour in NSW, following Dr Rabeea’s passion for family medicine and interest in working and studying internationally.
